Unidentified energy readings reported on surface of the Timbra Prime Moon Base
"Tu-Buku, take two tac squads and investigate," came the order from command.
The tactical squads quickly formed a perimeter around the strange glowing object that was the focal point of their mission. Upon investigating closer, the object appeared to be a ring.
As Tu-Buku bent down to pick up the ring, a loud revving sound, and the flapping of wings came from all sides.
"To arms! Traitor scum approaching. Defend the ring at all cost. Call in for reinforcements. Send the Fireborn into battle." Commanded Tu-Buku over a crackling radio.
The Salamanders were dug in well, and successfully peppered advancing cultists with bolter fire, achieving first blood. Things were going well for the defenders......until the sounds of flapping wings came upon them like a hurricane. Great plumes of fire came from the mouth of a demon chicken, melting several proud marines were they stood.
On the heels of that demon's arrival, a great demon prince used physic witchery to try and thwart the defenders, but the ancient one and Fireborn arrived.
The great dreadnought, showing no fear, engaged the demon. The Fireborn unleashed fire of their own into the swarms of the traitors and Thousand Son marines.
Led by their Chaplain, the Fireborn took rounds of bolter fire, but bravely withstood the onslaught as they also engaged the demon A bloody melee erupted and tied it up so that the Demon could not obtain the ring.
After the carnage was over, Tu-Buku and his few remaining tac marines obtained the ring for further study by sages in the vaults of the Imperium.
Battle Result: Major Victory for the Salamanders
